Recaro Avan is suitable for children aged newborn-15 months (<13 kg | 40-83 cm).
The Avan baby car seat has been developed to exceed all safety requirements. However, it is not only about security. It's all about technologically ingenious design for you and your child. Everyday adventures are much more fun with the Avan baby chair, which weighs only 4.8 kg, so it's easy to carry all day. Adapters have also been made for the Avan so that it fits Recaro pushchairs and pushchair frames, and you can move around effortlessly with your baby.
The Recaro Avan child seat is mounted facing backwards. Avan can be secured with the vehicle's seat belt or optional Isofix base (purchased separately) with a single click for the safest and most comfortable journey.

- Modular system: By using the Avan/Kio base, both child seats can be quickly and safely installed in any car with just one click. From birth to the child is approx. 15 months (40-83 cm) the Avan baby chair can be used facing backwards, while you can use the Kio reboarder for your child from a height of 60 cm (approx. 3 months).
- Easy and safe installation with the car's seat belt or Isofix (Avan/Kio base - purchased separately): The car seat can be installed with the car's seat belt, but for maximum safety we recommend installation with the Avan/Kio Isofix base. Toddlers up to 15 months should also be placed rear-facing in relation to the direction of travel for maximum safety. For additional stability, the Avan/Kio base is equipped with an adjustable support leg.
- Advanced page protection: The integrated side protectors absorb energy in the event of a side collision.

- Patented Hero Safety System: A single unit consisting of shoulder pads, shoulder straps and headrest prevents the harness from twisting and sliding and simplifies the safe and easy fastening process. Your child is simply and securely fastened with the harness, which is covered with fabric so that it does not get too hot in the sun and irritate your child's sensitive skin.

- Smart seat belt buckle: When you take your baby out of the car seat, the seat belt buckle folds forward and stays in this position. This prevents your child from sitting on the buckle when placed in the car seat, making it easier to fasten the "nugget".
- Extra large sunshade: The extra large sun canopy with UPF 50 sun protection and extendable sun screen protects your child's sensitive skin from wind and UV radiation.

ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club eV) is Germany's and Europe's largest interest association within the automotive industry with around 17 million members. ADAC annually organizes tests of car seats, where the selection of the car seats included in the test is confidential until the tests are published.
The test carried out by ADAC is called "extreme test" and consists of frontal and side impact tests. In addition to the safety test, ADAC also tests usability, comfort, quality and more, which can be of a more subjective nature and a challenge to check and compare, although these are also important aspects in choosing a car seat.
